Arpak Worya Mohammed Qanee was born in Erbil in the Kurdistan region in iraq and discovered chess at a very young age, he was born in a family who were all chess players. From his very first games, it was clear he had a natural affinity for the game. He would go on the roof of his house to play chess alone and practice his skills, and he would often play against his family members, who were also avid chess players.
Arpak quickly developed a reputation as a prodigy, and his talent and determination was quickly recognized across the country. soon winning countless of tournaments and competitions, and earning the respect of his peers and mentors alike. eventually winning the title of Iraq's number one chess player.
That's not all, Arpak also started training his son and daughter in chess, and they both became very good players. Especially his son Daryan Worya, who thanks to his father's guidance and mentorship, has become a very strong chess player in his own right, and also became Iraq's number one youth chess player at the age of 8 years old.
Outside of competition, Arpak is an enthusiastic, dedicated individual and a family man. He is passionate about mentoring younger players and believes that chess is as much about character as it is about strategy. believes that chess is as much about character as it is about strategy.
